A Building with History, for History

Lisbon, 1918

In the 1920s, between numbers 175 and 181 of the bustling Rua do Ouro street, stood an imposing four-floor building owned by the Sagres Insurance Company. The building, converted into offices, was a source of pride for the company and a testament to the nobility of its clients. Further enhancing its grandeur were a newly added stairway, the construction of a fourth floor, the conversion of the attic into habitable lofts and the installation of a lift.
Grupo Bensaúde acquired the building in the 1960s, making significant changes to accommodate offices and businesses. On the ground floor were shops and various businesses, and on the upper floors were the headquarters of Grupo Bensaúde.
